About
Mangi as affectionately known is a COMMUNITY BUILDER. She has substantial community development experience ranging from, running an NGO which offers various programmes, running a business, Skills Development, Women empowerment, Job placement, Child and Youth Care Work, and Advocacy campaigns such as the fight against Gender-Based Violence just to name a few. Mangi is a prominent member of the Dobsonville community, well known and respected by various stakeholders in her community through the work of her organization – Lejwe La Thuso. She is involved in a number of initiatives that seek to empower women and people in general. Mangi is a finalist for the Woman of stature awards. She is Mama Clover an initiative aimed at highlighting the work done to empower communities.
Established in 2010 Lejwe La Thuso with the meaning ‘Stone of Help’ was foundered by Mr. RL Molete and Mrs. SE Molete. Born out of the needs of their community the organization started operating fully in April of 2011. Lejwe La Thuso Foundation is an NPO based in Dobsonville. It was established when the founders saw the level of poverty in and around the community, taking into account the most vulnerable members of the community, the orphans, and the vulnerable children who are victims of social ills such as the AIDS epidemic. The organization has attracted so many stakeholders, reputable in the community to this day. We have access to more than 20 volunteers and 385 beneficiaries from different walks of life. The organization uses a partnership model and an associate model depending on the availability of funding and the project we are involved in, whenever we do big projects will call on our associated who supports with technical support and capacity building. Whenever we do small projects will use our in-house capacity. Lejwe La Thuso is situated right in the heart of Soweto and serves the people of Soweto with dignity.
